Support of a Good Friend

I became quiet and you noticed
my voice soften while you listened
you asked if you could help
but I resisted.

I didn't want to ask
and thank God you knew
that I was in need
of something true.

You grabbed me and let me cry
within your arms I knew I wouldn't die
I sobbed and my energy shifted.

I was embarrassed and wanted to run
but you held on tight
and didn't make a sound.
Crying was what I needed and
you waited until it was completed.

It was over fast and painless.
We smile and it was truly shameless.

You reminded me I would do the same.
Let it go, let's get on with our game.
